About Us
Our Story
Founded in 2022 by educator and mentor Paul Penniman, the Penniman Foundation was born out of a recognition that too many older youth were “aging out” of programs without ongoing support. Paul launched the foundation to fill that gap and stand alongside young adults as they build independent lives.
Our Mission
To empower and uplift young adults through mentorship, education support, and access to resources that honor their lived experiences and potential.
Our Approach
- Holistic Mentorship – Ongoing relationships with mentors who “get it.”
- Education & Workforce Pathways – Support for vocational training, career counseling, and alternative education routes.
- Practical Assistance – Help with financial planning, housing questions, and everyday life decisions.

- Guided participants into workforce programs like Year Up
